About this Project
Bagback Download (download.bagbacktech.com) is a free, open-source universal media downloader — built so that anyone can save videos, audio tracks, and files from over 1,000 websites in one place, without accounts, without ads, and without their activity being tracked or stored anywhere.
It supports the platforms people actually use: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, and hundreds more. Quality options go up to 4K and 8K video, or clean MP3 audio extraction.
It runs in the browser. It works on any device. And it can be installed as a desktop or mobile app with a single click.
Downloading media from the internet is something millions of people need to do every day — for offline playback, archiving, research, content creation, or accessibility purposes. Yet most available tools fall into one of three categories:
Cluttered and ad-saturated: Free web tools typically bury the download button under layers of misleading ads, fake progress bars, and redirect traps.
Privacy-invasive: Many tools log what you download, keep files on their servers, or sell behavioral data to third parties.
Single-platform or limited: Tools that work for YouTube rarely work for TikTok, and vice versa.
Bagback Download was engineered under a Clean-Room Engineering policy — meaning zero cookies, zero telemetry, zero behavioral tracking — and built to support over 1,000 platforms from a single, clean interface that works equally well in Arabic and English.
The result is a tool that respects the user completely, without asking anything in return.
